Wisdom Wednesday

Faith... what is the true measure of faith? What I mean by this is what does it really mean to be faith filled and fully reliant on God for all things. I believe that when a person is fully reliant on God for all things and places all their faith in God to get them through any circumstance, that is when they become fully reliant on faith. I love what scripture tells us in Mark 11:22-24, " And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

Have faith in God... I love that statement, have faith in God. It doesn't matter what the circumstance is, just have faith and trust that He is in control and He knows what's best for us. I remember when I was a young girl going swimming with my family in a river. I was scared to jump in because I wasn't the strongest swimmer and my grandpa got in and told me he would catch me. I was still skeptical so he said "trust me" so I jumped in and sure enough he caught me. That story makes me think about what God does when we step out in faith.

When we step out in faith we place our trust in God to keep us safe and walk with us through every circumstance we may face. Scripture also tells us the faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen. I like that thought, faith is the substance of things we have hoped for. "For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” (Romans 1:17).

So I'll leave you with this thought... what or who are you placing your faith in? Are you fully dependent on God for everything or are you trusting in someone or something else. Have faith in God!

As always remember you have a God-given uniqueness!

Shalom ~ Alianna
