Wisdom... where do you search for it?

The term wisdom in the dictionary means; "ability to discern inner qualities and relationships". Wisdom is a vital characteristic, it is needed to provide guidance and insight into the changing seasons as well as the day to day hustle and bustle.

As I sat down to write I was reminded of a conversation I had with a mentor years ago. It is so important that the people we surround ourselves with are like-minded and point us closer to Jesus instead of pulling us away. Surround yourself with wise counsel and allow them to pour into your life as you in turn pour into theirs.

The people we allow to influence our lives have the ability to influence the trajectory of our lives. They can bring spiritual growth or they can drain you and leave you spiritually bankrupt.

"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline" - Proverbs 1:7

The book of Proverbs is full of insight and words of wisdom, I encourage you all to read the book in its entirety. The next few verses from Proverbs are centered around the concept of wisdom.

"For the Lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding" - Proverbs 2:6

Again we see the mention of wisdom,

"For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can compare with it." - Proverbs 8:11

It is so important that we are seeking wisdom from God and surrounding ourselves with people who are helping to build us up and grow spiritually with us. Wisdom brings growth and spiritual maturity. Know who you are allowing to speak into your life and make sure the words you are allowing to be anchored to you are life-giving.

Like I mentioned earlier, those we allow into our lives have the power to build us up or make us spiritually bankrupt.

Much love friends,

Alianna
