If there is one thing I have learned over the last few years it is that our God is so good. His goodness has followed me my whole life, even in the dark moments when its hard to see His goodness. I know it can be hard to trust that He is good in every season we face, but I promise you He is. Its not easy to see the goodness at times, but its there. Life has a funny way of getting in the way at times and making it hard to see the goodness all around us. Be encouraged friend, you are not alone and you are so loved.
More times than I care to admit, I have found myself searching for the goodness in whatever season I may be walking through. The one thing I have found and will continue to hold on to is the realization that no matter the mountain in front of me, my God is good and He is bigger than that mountain. I had to learn that it is not because of anything I do or can do that God loves me. He loves me because I am His. Fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of my Creator.
I am a child of the King of the universe and His love has no limits. I will never be able to earn His love and affection. That's why it is a gift! Nothing I could ever do would ever make we worthy of such goodness, and yet it is freely lavished on me and all of you. What an incredible God we serve friends! I love the fact that even before you were formed in your mothers womb, God had His hand on your life. All those years ago as God spoke the earth into creation and gave life to everything around us, He already knew your name!
The creator of the universe knows your name and every little thing about you and He continues to pour out unfailing love on us. If that's not goodness I don't know what is. It is honestly an overwhelming thought to think about just how much God loves us. Or to think about the depth of His love and mercy for us.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!" - Romans 5:8-9
How amazing is that? Jesus went to that cross with us on His mind. Even while we were still sinning He chose to die for us so that we could spend eternity with Him. Honestly it can be hard to wrap my mind around the fact that He could love us so much. I love the entire book of Psalms, but one of my favorite chapters is Psalm 100. Its a shorter chapter, but it is so beautiful.
"Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation." - Psalm 100:1-5
What an amazing God we serve, and I hope we all always remember His goodness and love. May we never forget the goodness of our God and the grace He continues to pour out on all of us.
