Wait...

Life has a funny way of always being so busy, with a new distraction around every corner. With all the business and craziness that goes on around us, it can be so hard to make room to rest in the presence of our God. To set aside all distractions and fully rest in the goodness and mercy of who our God is.

As we all know the Bible is packed full of insight and guidance for day to day life. I love how there is literally a passage for everything and anything. Life has been a bit crazy the last few weeks and I have found myself struggling at times to remember to wait on the Lord. To allow Him to be my strength and the rest I desperately need.

I love the entire book of Psalms, but today I want to focus in on Psalm 62. There is so much depth within this chapter and a message I think we all need to hear right now. Let's read through it together:

"I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence. They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me." -Psalm 62:1-7

The first 7 verses always stand out to me within this Psalm. I love how David starts by saying, "I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him." David goes on to talk about how God is his fortress and strength, that even when many enemies surround him from all sides, God still holds all the power and the victory over every second and every minute.

It serves as a great reminder that no matter what we may be walking through, we don't have to be afraid. All we have to do is wait quietly on the Lord. Understanding that He has already won the battle. All we have to do is allow Him to be the strength and rest our hearts so desperately need and long for.

The very next verse gives a beautiful reminder,

"O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge." -Psalm 62:8

He is our refuge friends and His love for each of you is unlike anything you could ever imagine! So wait quietly for the Lord friends and let Him be your rest.

Much love friends,

Alianna
