There is this moment in between one season and the next that I think is often over looked. It is those small moments that we often miss within the waiting. I think those moments can actually be quite powerful. There is a stillness that can be found in those moments, a quite before the next season. If we take the time to breath through those moments and allow ourselves to be recharged in those moments I think it allows us to go into the next season refreshed and ready for whatever may come next.
The in between if you will, gives us space to grow and change. It gives us time to take a deep breath and remember that we are not alone, but most importantly it gives us a moment to remember just how good our God is and find rest in Him. Those in between moments allow us to find rest and relax knowing that our God is in control and He knows just what we need.
I hope that all of you can learn to find rest in the presence of Christ. That you would learn to lean on Him and place your faith and trust completely in Him. It is my prayer that you would begin to understand that your help and rest comes from the Lord. He never leaves you and He is always good!
"The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper." -1 Kings 19:11-12
I love this passage, I think that we often expect for God to speak in a grand or elaborate way. Yet, it is in those quite moments we hear Him whisper into our hearts. I love that this passage mentions a powerful wind, and an earthquake and even a fire, but it was not in any of those things that he found God. It was in the gentle whisper that came after.
It was the in between, where He was found. The quite moment between the changing of seasons. The whisper after the fire, the calm after a hurricane in a sense. The in between is just as important as the season before and the seasons to come. These quite moments give us time to breath and remember who we are and whose we are. Reminding us that we are never alone and we don't have to be afraid.
"When I felt at my lowest, He was with me. When I thought I was alone, I heard Him comfort me in a gentle whisper."
I want to encourage you with this thought - you are never alone and you never will be. It doesn't matter what is going on around you, God has you in the palm of His hand and He loves you so very much. So the next time you feel alone or stuck in the in between, remember it wasn't in the wind, earthquake or even in the fire that God's voice was heard. It was in the gentle whisper that came after.
That's your challenge this week, listen for that gentle whisper in whatever chaos may be surrounding you, and remember you never walk alone!
Much Love friends,
Alianna
