Testimony after the Storm..
I think it is safe to say the last few years have been hard on all of us. So many things have changed and are continuing to change, but if there was one thing that I can say without a doubt its that my God has not changed and He is still good. I love what Psalm 66 tells us.
Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what He has done for my soul. - Psalm 66:16
The last few years have been hard on us all, but I think that even in the midst of the struggles we have been facing there still has been beauty. I was thinking about all the things that have changed in my own life over the last few years. I went from being a high-school senior at the start of the pandemic and having anything but a normal graduation to now being a junior in college. Life has continued to move forward even in the midst of all the craziness that has been going on.
It reminded me that when we allow God to be the center of our lives and allow Him to lead, life has a way of continuing to move forward even in the midst of the struggle. We are never alone, we are surrounded by a loving father who has carried us through all the ups and downs of life.
"And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning. - John 15:27
The storms and trials that we face are hard and often feel like they are never going to end, but be encouraged that it is just a season and it will end. At the end of those storms, is a new season and another story to add to your testimony. Your life is a testimony to how you have lived and the things you have walked through.
The word testimony literally means - evidence or proof provided by the existence or appearance of something. Everything that you have faced recently and in the past is a part of your testimony and has played a part in shaping you into the person you are today. I love this quote and the idea behind it.
"If I discover within myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." - C.S. Lewis
I guess what I have been trying to say this whole post is that no matter what storm you may be walking through at this moment you are not alone. This is just a part of your testimony, a chapter in the book of your life. I know I mention this a lot, but its just because I truly believe it to be true. You are never alone and you are always enough. It doesn't matter what storm you are facing or have faced, you are not alone and you are worthy of love.
If there was one thing I could convince you to always remember I would want you to remember that you are the sons and daughters of the most high and you have a purpose and a uniqueness that is unique to you and was written by the Creator of the Universe long before you were born. I pray you all remember that society does not define you. No matter what society says, you are enough just the way you are.
Your testimony is different from the person next to you and its beautiful. You are one of a kind and you have so much to offer the world, never forget that you are more than enough.
