Hey friends! I was thinking a lot lately about art and nature, we are surrounded by the greatest canvas to ever exist and the artist behind it all knows everything about you. He knows your name, height, eye color, even the number of hairs on your head. The creator of the universe knows you by name and calls you His own. Even before you where formed in your mothers womb He knew you and had a plan and purpose marked out for your life.
Your very existence is proof of the magnificence of God and the power of His grace and mercy. You are proof of the mercy of the cross, He sent His only Son to die on the cross to take your place. He paid a debt He did not owe in order to have a relationship with you for all eternity. He paid a debt so great you could never begin to repay it no matter how hard you tried or even if you lived a thousand years.
From your inner most parts to every hair on your head and even the smallest atoms within your body, He knows every part. He knit you together in your mothers womb, and knows everything about you. He paints every sunrise and every sunset, marking the beginning and end of every day and every season. As the seasons come and go He stays the same.
He continues to paint a beautiful story of life through His grace and mercy. A never ending, undeserved mercy freely poured out upon us. Freely given, yet worth more than gold, silver, or any other priceless treasure. It is so sweet to trust in Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. At every turn I see the work of His hands, every glance around me shows more of who He is and His magnificent creations.
In short... GOD IS AN ARTIST.
"You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands. May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word." - Psalm 119:73-74
When God spoke creation into existence He painted the beginnings of the greatest masterpiece to ever exist. With every painted sunrise and sunset He reveals a little more of who He is and His love for His creation. At the beginning of creation we are told that with a single spoken word light was formed invading the darkness, then with another word life was formed. From the planets, the sun, moon, and all the stars in the universe, to the smallest atom He created it all with a unique purpose. He is without a doubt the greatest artist.
I love that when I paint or photograph the world around me, I'm able to capture even just a small glimpse of the grander of creation. There's something so beautiful in capturing a glimpse of the beauty that surrounds us and turning it into something that can both comfort and excite those who see our art. I love what Exodus 35: 31-32 tells us,
"And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze." - Exodus 35:31-32
Honestly, I think it is so beautiful to think about the fact that the Creator of the universe made all we see around us with a single word from His mouth. Not only that, but He has taken the time to remind each of us just how loved we are and He continues to seek a relationship with us. No matter what may be going on around us, He walks with us through it all.
God is the greatest artist... you are the proof of that and so is the person next to you! No matter what life throws your way, remember you are so loved and you are a masterpiece!
