If you look up the word grace in the dictionary it says - simple elegance or unmerited divine favor.
For as long as I can remember the thought of God's grace toward His people has fascinated me. The fact that God would choose to show us this unmerited, undeserving grace to us, a bitter, sinful people blows me away. No matter what we do we will never be deserving of the grace He has shown us.
I love what James 4:6,
"And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
This year the word I have been focusing on is 'Centered' as you can tell by the title today I want to focus in on being centered in grace. In this crazy, fast paced world it can be hard to stay focused on something for more than a few minutes, if that.
Being centered in grace does not mean nothing else matters in life. What I mean by this is that I want my life to reflect that grace, the grace I have been given even though I am anything but deserving of such a gift.
That's just what it is too! Grace is a gift that we will never be able to deserve. I'm sure we can all think of a time in our lives when someone showed us grace or we offered it in turn. I can remember time and time again when I was gifted this grace, never once did I deserve the sweet gift. That's why it's called a gift! A free offering to show us we are loved, cared for, needed, wanted.
What I'm trying to get at, is that when we live a life centered in grace, we see the world a little bit different. The closer our walk with God becomes the easier it is to show grace. The easier it is to show grace the more Christ-like we become.
I say this all the time and I'm sure I will say it again - I don't care if people remember me, I just want them to remember the God in me!
Much love friends,
Alianna
