It is amazing how so many things can take place at once. So many emotions and thoughts playing a game of tug-of-war inside of us at any given moment. It has always fascinated me that we can have so many emotions and thoughts going through our minds at any given moment. We can be full of joy in one moment and filled with sorrow the next moment.
We are complex beings who were created by an amazing and faithful God. When our emotions are running all over the place, our God is right there with us through all the ups and downs. I believe faith is what holds us steady in these moments. I love what Hebrews 11:1-3 tells us,
"Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen." -Hebrews 11:1-3
Faith is the reality of the things we hope for and it is the evidence of the things that we cannot see. Our faith is an anchor that keeps us going even when it feels like we are falling apart. Without our faith it is so hard to keep pushing through. Faith holds us steady and helps us keep our head up when we are struggling to keep pushing forward.
In those moments when it is hard to keep pushing forward it is so important that we remember that our faith is like an anchor on a ship keeping us from straying from the course we have set before us. God has a plan and purpose for our lives and I believe it is our faith that keeps us going.
I love what Matthew 21:21-22 tells us, let's read the passage together.
"Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it." -Matthew 21:21-22
No matter what the season is that you are walking through or how hard it is to see clearly through said season, it is so important to understand that it is our faith in our Creator that keeps us going and steadies us like an anchor. God is so good friends, and I just want to remind you that He sees you and He loves you more than you could even imagine!
