Oh, man am I thankful for the love and mercy of God. If it wasn’t for His love and mercy I will tell you right now, that I would not be the same person I am today. It is only through His mercy and the overwhelming love He has poured out on the cross that I can stand confidently in who He has made me to be, and it is a prayer of mine that you all would be able to stand tall and know who you are in and through Him.
There is an old song that goes – “I love you Lord and I lift my voice to worship you oh my soul rejoice. Take joy my King in what you hear, let it be a sweet… sweet sound in your ear” I love the message of this song, and the power its words hold. Over the years it has honestly become my earnest prayer. A reminder that my soul longs for Jesus and everything within me chases after Him.
That is my prayer for all of you as you read these words, that you would cling to the promises of God and remember that as long as you are chasing after God with everything in you, your soul can rejoice in the abundance of love and mercy He pours out on us.
I recently had a conversation with a friend, and we were talking about self-image and how it can be so easy to allow the things others around us say, effect the way we see ourselves. In fact when I was younger I hated the way I looked and I felt like I was worthless, if I’m being honest. I was convinced I didn’t deserve to be loved by those around me. I became very depressed, then through the help of my dad I began to pour into scripture and allow the Word of God to show me who I am and to define me. To this day, I have scripture covering my mirror at home as a daily reminder of who I am in Christ and the I am enough because He is enough. Through Him I have everything I will ever need. I love what 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us,
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come.”
Likewise, in Psalm 139:14 we are told,
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
I would encourage you to find verses that you can cling to in every season you walk through and allow God’s word to define who you are and cling to those promises. No matter what you may be walking through, whatever the season I want you to know you are always enough and so very loved by the creator of the universe. Over the years I have learned that it is only in and through Christ that I can find my worth. It is through Him I am made enough, He is enough so I am enough.
There are so many things I wish I had known when I was younger, but even through all the pain and hardships. The ups and downs, I honestly wouldn't change a thing, it is because of the things I have walked through and the scripture I has clung to along the way that I am who I am today. I know it can seem like the season you're walking through is never going to end, but eventually it will. Just like the name says it is just a season. It will pass.
Please remember that no matter what season you are walking through, you are always enough through every season, because He is enough and He is all you need.
No matter what may be going on remember you are so loved!
Much love friends,
Alianna
