At the Center...

Recently while having a conversation with my dad I was reminded of a song I hadn't heard in quite a while, the chorus of the song grabbed my attention and became my fervent prayer. "Nothing else matters, nothing in this world will do. Jesus, You're the center, and everything revolves around You Jesus, You, at the center of it all".

There is so much power in that statement 'nothing else matters, nothing in this world will do', and it is so true. When I hear those words I can't help but, remember all the times Jesus walked with me through my darkest days. All the times I found Him right by my side when it seemed like my world was crumbling, when I wanted to give up, He carried me through. Without Jesus nothing else really matters, it is only in and through Him that we have life.

The apostle Paul writes within scripture, "for me to live is Christ, to die is gain". I think this song is a beautiful reminder to put Jesus in the center of everything we do. No matter the circumstance or the situation we may find ourselves in, put Jesus at the center and allow Him to be our life leader in everything we do. Trust me, He knows what He's doing.

Later on in the song it tells us, "From my heart to the heavens, Jesus be the center. Its all about you, yes its all about you", wow! What a great reminder that it is all about Jesus, it always has been and it always will be. As Christians we are called to be imitators of Christ, to be like Christ which means in how we live our lives, in our interaction, and in our reactions it should always be our goal to point everyone around us to Jesus.

It is all about Jesus, nothing else matters when we fix our eyes upon Jesus the author and perfector of our faith! He was there at the beginning and He is with us today. I love what the Apostle Paul writes in Galatians 2:20

"My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. "

See, its no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives within me. The old me is dead and gone, yet I am alive in Christ! Verse 21 continues;

"I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die."

Do not take the grace of God as meaningless friends. Cherish that grace, a grace you could never begin to deserve, that was freely poured out on all of us when Jesus went to that cross in our place. Chapter 3:1-2 continues this thought process,

" Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ's death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ."

As I was reading through this passage and praying over the message I wanted to share with all of you, it was almost as if God said, "Oh, you foolish generation! who has cast an evil spell on you?" It was as if we were put into the context of the passage, its time we put Jesus back at the center of our lives. Its time we stopped standing by and allowing the things of this world to keep us trapped in fear. Its time for Jesus to be made the center of it all.

It all happened because of Jesus. Don't you see it is all centered around who Jesus is! Jesus at the center of it all, always present, always faithful, always patient, and always good! I love the last verse of the song, "Jesus be the center of your church. And every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess you Jesus." The song leaves us with another reminder at the very end that nothing matters more than Jesus, when Jesus is our everything.

I honestly believe that there are to many "Christians" out there who have forgotten that its Jesus at the center. Its not about our feelings or wants, it is about focusing in on Jesus and putting Him at the center of everything. Putting Him in the center of our families, our relationships, our circles of influence, our workplaces, putting Him at the center of our lives and giving Him control.

Allowing Him to lead us and allowing Him to truly be the center of it all, no matter the season, the circumstance, or whatever it may be. It's time to put Jesus back at the center of it all.

It's time to put Jesus back at the center of it all friends and remember the words of Paul, for me to live is Christ to die is gain.

Much Love friends,

Alianna
