A Generation that Knows...

I was reading in the book of Judges recently and I came across a verse that really stopped me in my tracks. Let's look at it together.

"After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the Lord or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel." - Judges 2:10

This verse got me thinking about what I have seen around me. I see a generation that is split, I would argue that through the use of social media that my generation has a unique platform that no generation before has had. At our fingertips we have the power to be a generation that proclaims the gospel message to all the world, but on the same platforms we can use for good we are constantly exposed to violence, chaos and well garbage.

It can be a daily battle to censor what it is we are allowing to shape and influence who we are and who we are becoming. I think that is why this verse stood out to me so much. There is a battle going on daily for the lives of this generation and the generations to come, and I believe that we as a generation, as a people of faith are called to be the generation that teaches and reminds the next generation of what our God has done.

I love what the psalmist wrote in Psalm 145,

"What you have done will be praised from one generation to the next; they will proclaim your mighty acts. They will speak of your glory and majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds. People will speak of your mighty deeds, and I will proclaim your greatness. They will tell about all your goodness and sing about your kindness." - Psalm 145:4-7

It has became my prayer as of late that it would be my generation. That this generation would take a stand and proclaim the gospel to the nations. That my generation would be the one to tell the next of the mighty works of our God. That we would stand up and stop hiding behind the fears and doubts that hold us back, that we would begin to walk out the calling God has placed on our lives and remember that He calls us chosen, not forsaken.

If God is for you who could ever be against you! It is time for a generation to stop hiding in the shadows and stand firm in what we believe. To be proclaimers of the gospel and to share Christ with the ends of the earth, if not us then who and if not now then when.

Let us be a generation that knows God and spreads the gospel to the next.

I don't know about you, but the thought of an entire generation not knowing who God is is a devastating and honestly terrifying thought. I know in my own life I would not be here if it was not for the grace and mercy of our God. He has walked with me through the deepest valleys and been there in my mountain top moments as well. Without His grace and mercy I would have nothing.

Which is why I believe its time for a generation to step out in faith and be a voice proclaiming who our God is. Let us be the generation to teach them. Let us not be the generation that has turned away and doesn't remember who He is, but let us be the generation that proclaims His message to all people everywhere.

Let it be my our generation that spreads the news.

Much love friends,

Alianna
